Community In-Home Services provides
five types of help:
Personal Care/Respite Care,
Advanced Personal Care, Homemaker Chore Care
Registered Nurse Visits
Providing
Services to the Following Counties:
Pike, Lincoln, Ralls, Dent, Reynolds,
Shannon, Phelps, Perry, Ste. Genevieve,
St. Francois
Personal Care
Provides medically-oriented services to eligible persons who have
a chronic, stable condition that can be safely maintained at home .Personal
care services include bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing,
assistance with toileting, help with walking or transfers to chairs or wheelchairs,
meal planning and preparation, assistance with self-administered medications,
light housework and shopping for groceries and health related items. Services
also may include weekly visits by a nurse for medication set-ups and general
health evaluation, depending upon needs of the recipient.
Advanced Personal Care
Provides medically-oriented services to
persons who have a catheter or ostomy, require bowel and bladder routines
and range of motion exercises. Additionally, advanced care aides apply
medicated lotions or ointments and non-sterile dressings to unbroken skin,
assist with oral medications set up by a nurse and perform other tasks
requiring a high degree of training.
Homemaker / Chore Care
Provides a wide variety of household tasks necessary to maintaining a safe, habitable home environment. This includes sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, shampooing rugs, washing walls, woodwork and windows, cleaning closets, basements and attics, airing bedding and mattresses, lawn mowing and snow removal, minor repairs, shopping and errands for essential items.
Registered Nurse Visits
Provides increased supervision to Personal Care Aides
plus intensified health care assessment and certain nursing services to
recipient. Available as needed.
